This hotel has a great location, close to the subway and university. The staff and service were friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection offered cheese, meats, fruit, cereal and bread. Rooms were well-appointed and clean, with comfortable bedding and an adequate number of towels provided.

Nice and simple hotel, for the money paid it provided the basic needs and breakfast was included. The room was very spacious and clean and provided adequate facilities for a good night rest.
Location was a bit obscure and hard to find at first. Parking was difficult to find also, however staff assisted in locating suitable parking upon reaching hotel.

It was a short bus trip from city centre and close to The Botanical Gardens
I was unable to pay by bank card. The front door key didn't always work, you had to fiddle with it. The shower leaked, the tv wasn't working the first night,it was fixed next day but, workman left a mess, which didn't get cleaned up. The room needed a good clean. We had to ask for clean towels as we had to use old ones to stem the flow of water from the leaking shower. The breakfast was probabley ok fror the money we paid but, the smell from the frying made us feel sick. They cook it in the dining room, just a kind of partition half wall. It was a pity the hotel was so tired and in need of cleaning and decorating as we had a spacious room that could have been so nice and could be earning them lots of money.

The Alfred Glasgow exceeded my expectations in several ways. Firstly, the location of the hotel was perfect for my needs as it was conveniently situated near the university and the subway, making it easy to explore the city. Secondly, the staff provided exceptional service and attention to detail, ensuring that my stay was comfortable and hassle-free. Lastly, the rooms with private bathrooms were well-appointed and clean, offering a cozy retreat after a long day of sightseeing. Additionally, the breakfast provided was delicious and satisfying, setting me up for a great day ahead.
All aspects of my stay at this hotel were absolutely fine.

Rooms massively dusty- looked as though they had not been cleaned in ages, towels all ripped and shower filthy. Towel rail fell off the wall with the weight of the towel. When awaiting breakfast, they were taking one order, cooking it, then taking the next order. Told to wait. Waited about 35minutes to be served then told I should've come up to servery and placed an order. Requested scrambled eggs on toast. Got a dinner plate with a scraping of eggs and told to wait on the toast because.... the microwave was broken!!!

stayed in Glasgow before, but Alfred exceeded expectations. Quirky decor, stunning views from top floor. Excellent staff and delicious breakfast.

This hotel offers excellent value for money. The rooms are gorgeous and spotlessly clean, providing a safe and comfortable stay. The location is great, with convenient transport links, a good pub next door, and an award-winning Italian restaurant nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience. Additionally, the hotel's attention to detail and good measures for breakfast contribute to a satisfying stay.
Nothing to complain about - all was more than adequate.

The room was very comfortable and clean and I would recommended it again at this price.
Except that we had a very uncomfortable night due to a leak in the ceiling which kept us awake all night due to the speed and noise of the leak...we tried to find a member of staff to complain to, but no one was available, even in the morning. It did spoil our whole experience and we did call the hotel to complain but we did not receive any compensation.

Clean sheets, my own bathroom, privacy and a quiet environment.
The room was a little on the small side and slightly out of the way of the city, but that is probably why it was cheaper.
